Congratulations to the first Pet Responsibility graduates from Bluford Elementary School!

There were lots of guests at Bluford’s final assembly. Frankie Heath and Leslie Heffernan of People and Paws for Hope spoke with the 4th graders about their organization, which teaches teenagers how to train shelter dogs to improve their chances of getting adopted. Di’angilo, a graduate of the People and Paws for Hope Program, demonstrated some of his training techniques with a 1-year-old Beagle mix from the SPCA.PRC Bluford07 120814

Many thanks to Sherry from Great Dane Rescue Association who brought in her beautiful and very well behaved dog, and to Animal Control Officer Eric Mann who told us about his job, and the responsibility that pet owners have to take good care of their animals.PRC Bluford28 120814
